What can you do? There's nobody like you.

1. Sunsets
2. Today we had a mini "Goodbye" shindig for Malia. She is moving to the West Coast Zone... so she won't be 2 desks down from me. Sadness!
3. I went with Clarissa after work to her shop. I helped her put together some last minute things for West Side Story.
4. I'm going to LA tomorrow to visit with Michael, and then see his play, Soda Pop.
5. Sunday I am going to see West Side Story! I am excited!

And now, a video of my very good friend, Duncan. Look closely. This video was shot in my town in Japan, Tanbara.

Videos of the Day - It's a Weepies kind of day

Dreams

I had a really life-like and powerful dream about David last night. I was with him, as if nothing had ever happened. Then, I zoomed in on his face and could see every little detail about him. It was exactly him. There were even the 5 white eyebrow and eyelash hairs that he has. Suddenly, he started turning into a marionette doll. I tried to kiss him to bring him back, and it almost worked... but then, he was a doll, completely.

I really expected to wake up and find an email or something from him. Is it bad that I was disappointed when there was nothing there? I don't know what is going on in my head.

It's almost as if I am finally coming to terms with the fact that he is gone out of my life forever. It's just so hard when you devote yourself to someone so completely for so many years. For them to always be in your thoughts. It's not a change that can happen overnight. And I wonder how he is sometimes, but I know I can't find out, because that will hurt too much.

Life is weird.

I can be your out of here

1. Went out last night with the South Park Crew! Went to a different bar this time. Hamiltons. I got asked out by two guys. One was a no. One I had to think about. I don't know. The whole "dating" thing freaks me out. I don't know why. I get really flustered when people ask for my number or ask if I want to go out to dinner or something... I still think of myself as an ugly duckling, so it's just so weird!!
2. Today I bought chairs for my balcony. I sat outside and read for 2 hours today, just enjoying the quiet and being alone on my balcony.
3. I watched In Her Shoes tonight. It was an ok movie. I was ready for it to be over by the time it was done. But, it was a nice movie to get lost in.
4. I feel good tonight. Today was a recharge day. I spent the day (from when I got home from Clarissa&Lenny's place) alone, just being by myself. I played with Ocha a lot. I love that lil bun.

I am loved

I am so happy. Today I need only one happy thought. I received an email from Namioka-sensei, and today I finished translating the parts that I didn't understand. And now I do. I cried from happiness! She is such a wonderful friend to me. I miss my Jun-chan!!

I'll take a taxi to the moon, and leave this world far behind

1. I found the perfect red lipstick.
2. I drank 2 cups of coffee today. That's double what I normally drink. Needless to say, I was hyper and happy!
3. I got to talk to two of my favorite customers today. It's always a pleasure to talk to them. I didn't get to talk to all the favorites, though. I guess if I did, I would just end up chatting instead of working!
4. I ate a tofu spring roll with a peanut sauce to dip it in for lunch. It was delicious. I was thankful to my co-worker, Sara, for sharing.
5. I finished my book this evening. It helps that I was up until 11pm last night reading.
6. I took Ocha back to the vet today. His ear is healing well, but since he keeps scratching it, I have one of those little embarassing collars for him to wear. Poor Ocha. It is quite cute, though.
7. I ate Wheatabix for breakfast. They were delicious. For dinner, I made tuna cakes with veggies in the mix. Yum-o!

I'm a streetlight shining

1. Saturday was fun! In the morning, I went to a few antique shoppes nearby. I didn't find much, which is cool. But it was fun to walk around a few antique stores.
2. Got ready around 4ish, and went to Clarissa & Lenny's place 4:45ish. We ate hor d'oeuvres and drank some wine. Afterwards, we went to Clarissa's playhouse in El Cajon. We sat in the best seats in the house! Right in the middle, center. The show was so good! Called, The Senior Follies. It was basically a variety show-type where everyone in it was 55 and older! Very funny.
3. I realized that I am madly in love with Jimmy Stewart. If only we had been around in the same generation. I would have married him.
4. The finale was a gigantic tribute to America. I felt kinda bad, cuz I had to control my giggles. It's just so odd that America is the only country in the world who acts so... Patriotic. Is that the right word? Ridiculous?
4. After the show, we all went out to The Whistle Stop, the local bar near their house. We danced and drank and laughed a lot! I even danced in heels! Be impressed. Be very impressed!
5. Today, I slept till 10am!!! Double digits! Amazing! I woke up when Ocha jumped on my back. He was hungry and decided it was time for breakfast.
6. Lenny and I went to Costco today. I marveled at the sizes food can come in, in this country. It's insane! An 84 ounce jar of mayonnaise? Seriously!!
7. Lenny cooked a delicious dinner of tuna-stuffed peppers with provolone cheese on top. Yum! It was sooo yummy! I am glad that I am learning to like peppers, etc.

Violent Dreams, Every night, Turning empty pages of old magazines

1. Terra and I bought fruit for work on our 9am break. We bought bananas, apples, apricots, peaches, nectarines, grapes, and strawberries. I love that we keep a stocked fruit bowl at work. It's nice to eat healthy.
2. I finished reading Clan of the Cave Bear again. I always bawl at the end of that book. It's so well-written! And now I am 80 pages into Valley of the Horses. They just read so fast!
3. Took group pictures at work today, due to many of us wore green! Embarassed at the breast-head size ratio in this picture. I maybe was bright red for 30 minutes when Charina pointed it out.
4. Went with Terra to Victoria's Secret after work to check out the sale. Had an employee there measure me for a bra... She said 36D, and I was SO excited! But, alas. She was wrong. I'm no D cup, and doubt I ever will be. Hm.
5. I was going to go out dancing tonight... but I don't think I am up for leaving the house anymore. It's 10pm, and I was to snuggle in my pajamas and watch a movie. If only it were raining. I could do with a light thunderstorm tonight. Just because it would be so calming.
6. Tomorrow I am going to see the play that Clarissa is the designer for the costumes! I can't wait! We are going to all get really dressed up to go. Heel time! Remind me to touchup my toenail polish tomorrow.

Be my sugar bunny, honey

1. I ate leftover Chinese food for breakfast. It was orange chicken and it was delicious!
2. I spoke to one of my customers, Tommykins. He is really silly! I love that I can nickname people with serious names, like Thomas, with silly nicknames, and they accept it. I love nicknames!
3. I painted my nails fuschia.
4. My brother, Steve, called me randomly today! He called to tell me that he was in Nevada and was closeby (relatively). He is in Reno at a bowling tournament. I hope he wins!
5. It's a Jump, Little Children day! Yay! It's been a while. I'm liking it.

Back to the Daily Happies

1. Mom and Dad's visit was great! And minus a freak out this weekend, I had an amazing time. We did lots of touristy stuff and spend a lot of time with Jackie and the boys, too.
2. The Rents bought me a dining room table for my birthday! I now officially live here. I have a bed, a "sofa", AND a dining room table. California is official.
3. When I arrived at work today, I was greeted by big hugs from two of my co-workers! It's nice to be missed.
4. Tonight I am taking back my "Sigur Ros - Untitled Track 3" back.

No more

I will deal with the turmoil no more.

I never wanted to hate him. I never thought I would feel like this towards him.

Sometimes to be fair, one must be unfair

Well, this means life is moving on and needs to keep doing so. Kashiko left David a comment on Flickr that says "Love you."

You know, I don't think I will ever trust that he didn't cheat on me. Last I spoke to him, he held that he didn't do anything with her. But, there is no particle in my body that feels like he was faithful to me with her.

It's quite sad, really. I don't want it to fuck me up forever, but at the moment, I am upset with him. It's hard when someone goes from being your best friend, and most trusted person in the world...to this. I wish I hadn't have seen the comment. Ignorance is bliss and all. I should know better than to check the "Comments you've left" box. Of course she had to comment that on one I had previously commented on months ago.

I am hot all over. I just hate that he could have ever done such a shitty thing to me. I want to not believe it, but... I don't.

Shiny like a diamond in the sky

1. I wore a cute dress to work today. I had to sew a button on it, so I've been putting off wearing it. I fixed it last night and wore it to work today. Summer = dresse/skirts ONLY!
2. Mega-cleaned my apartment for my parents' visit tomorrow. This included steam-cleaning my carpet.
3. I called Emily to thank her for the lovely present! I have it up on my wall, and I love it!
4. The flowers in my apartment are still bright and beautiful. They make me smile every time I look at them. Some day, I will find a boy who sends me flowers. I don't know when, but whenever that happens, I will like it.

If I had a wall, you'd be driving me up to the ceiling

1. Today I had my review with my boss. It went well. Lots of positive things! I know I am good at my job, so I wasn't surprised. I don't want to seem haughty or anything, but I am good at dealing with people. It's my talent.
2. I told my manager about the disagreement between me and another boss. She was surprised. I told her exactly what I felt about the whole situation.
3. I am almost finished with the book that Michael is lending me. I am going to need another one soon! This one, Pattern Recognition, is very interesting! The writing style is quite different to what I'm accostumed to, but I am enjoying it. Also, I love when the endings are way different than you expect!
4. I had a talk with the Big Boss today at work. We talked about lead times for our products...He asked me how long it takes to process the folding doors in the office, which is AT LEAST 2 weeks...and from just that statement, he made my dreams come true, saying that we can tell people they officially take 10-12 weeks. Thank goodness! There are many of my headaches gone!
5. I read in the park for my entire lunch period today. It was sunny, with huge white clouds. Wonderful!
6. Mom and Dad are coming to visit this week!!! They come in Wednesday! I am sooooo excited!

Sunday, June 10, 2007

I can see us in the country side, sitting in the grass laying side by side

1. Made a huge delicious breakfast today: cheesy hashbrowns, sunny-side up egg, whole wheat english muffin, and 2 slices of bacon! I don't think I've made myself such a big breakfast in aaaages.
2. I got to sleep in 2 days in a row this weekend! Due to going out and being out alll nite on Friday, I woke up Saturday at 8am...then went back to bed until almost 1pm!!!
3. Friday night, I got a call on my cell from Armon. FYI, he is in China and still found a moment to call me! What a great guy! I am going to try and save to visit him. He said we can see China, Thailand, Vietnam, Laos... so many places! I am ready!
4. Today I spent $14 on flowers at the Hillcrest Farmers Market. I've never spent so much on flowers for me before. It was a nice feeling. I probably shouldn't have done it (money-wise), but I don't care! I love having flowers in my apartment! Cheers it right up! I got 2 huge bunches of Gerbera flowers (orange and yellow) and a big bunch of pink & yellow dahlias. Pictures to come.
5. Today, I am going to clean, because my parents are coming in to town on Wednesday! I am soo excited!

AND BIG NEWS OF THE WEEK:
I bought a bed!!! It was delivered to me on Friday, and I am mega amounts of excited! I went to Marshall's and bought some 600 thread count sheets. Booyah! No more futon sleeping for me.

Saturday, June 09, 2007

You'd said you'd follow through

1. I got my three new shirts from Threadless yesterday.
2. Went out dancing to a gay bar called "Flame" last night with Shantel and krew. Lots of dancing with cute boys! Too bad they were all gay! Ahh well ^_~
3. The BBQ was really fun last weekend. I helped make delicious tamales (about 6million of them!), ran around a park chatting and eating and taking pictures, received a special coloring book and jumbo crayons, went swimming in the middle of the night... FUN!
4. Sunday, I spent all day hanging out with Michael in LA. We ate cinnamon raisen bagels and drank coffee and watched some Planet Earth. Then we walked around Hollywood for a while. Went to a crazy huge costume shop! Then, we ate at a really cute (Bluebird-esque) diner near his house.
5. Had crazy hat day at work yesterday!

uhm... That's all for now.

Why should you want any other, when you're a world within a world??

Today I am in a contemplative mood. I have been a lot recently.

My life has been going in a new direction. That direction is called "Living life for me."

I had an epiphany yesterday while leaving Target. I was walking out of the store, carrying 3 huge pillows and a bad full of nailpolish and household cleaner. And, crossing the parking lot, I realized that I am happy now. I can finally be free to be me, put me first, love me first.

It's a good feeling, to remember yourself after so long of putting others first.

What a great weekend!

1. Out with friend on Sat night. BBQ'd at Sarah's house. Chatted, played pool, hung out, ate delicious food. A great evening!
2. Sunday, went to a BBQ at my sister's house. She and Dale tried to set me up with an Australian boy. Unsuccessful. Thank goodness!
3. Ate the BEST guacamole in the universe at Jackie's BBQ.
4. Woke up at 6:30am today and drove to LA to meet up with Michael. Went to Little Tokyo: ate Japanese food, did purikura, went to Kinokuya, played the taiko game. Watched Spaced and Happy Feet. It was a great Memorial Day!
5. No traffic on the way TO or FROM Los Angeles. Woah!!!

Sunday, May 27, 2007

A voicemail from my sister

"Hi Ab, it's Jac. You are coming to the BBQ, right? Dale invited one of his friends' friends to come, so you wont be the only single one there! He's cute and from Australia! So he has a great accent! Not that we are trying to play matchmaker...but we are."

Oh Jackie. Goodness gracious!
I hope it's not weird. If it is, then I will play with Blake (Alicia and John's lil 2yr old!) ^_^

And anyway, Brendan and I are going to shoot paintballs today. Excellent.

Friday, May 25, 2007

I'm sure I heard you sigh

1. Snacking on the best spinach dip and crackers at lunch.
2. Tomorrow: Pool Party!!
3. I cleaned my bathroom today after work. Like, seriously scrubbed it. It's so sparkly now!
4. Hummus in the morning! Hummus in the evening! Hummus at suppertime!
5. I have Monday off of work. Thank god! Finally, a day off. I don't get a PAID day off... but oh well. Take what you can get, right?
6. I had a customer ask fo rmy phone number today. It was random. Of course, I didn't give it to him! But, I was thankful that he's not a creepy old dude! What a random day.

The bubble's in trouble!

1. We had a picture taking contest at work today. And got in trouble with management for it. "No giggling! Get back to work!"
2. I am very close to a decision on how to handle it all.
3. I sent 4 postcards, 2 letters, and 2 packages today. I love sending mail. It's such a nice thing for the recipient.
4. I went to the gym today, finally. 3 weeks off. It's hard to go to the gym when things in life aren't on an even measure. They aren't completely yet, but I just need to wait it out till they are.
5. This weekend I watched a ton of movies with my nephews: Braveheart, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, Eragon, Happy Feet, and Encino Man.
6. I swam a lot on Saturday afternoon, and it was great!
7. Friday-Sunday, I finished off an entire medium-sized Papa John's pizza! Cheese and Pineapple! YUM!

I cried at work today

My life has felt like a mess lately. Everything seems in ruins or misplaced. It's not fun.

This morning at work, I had two co-workers confront me about a rumor they'd heard (that I thought they didnt like me). I dunno about that rumor... but it caught me off guard. And I was in a fragile mood anyway, so I burst into tears and had to answer a couple phone calls crying.

I am ready for equilibrium. And I know I'm not going to get that for a while. It's so tough.

So, tonight I am going over to Terra's house. We are going to rent a movie and eat cookie dough. Duh! The normal way girls heal.

Sunday, April 29, 2007

I cried an entire roll of toilet paper this morning. It was needed, though.

I still feel angry inside about it all. But, at least this is a step towards recovery.

Saturday, April 28, 2007

Friday 4/27 and Saturday 4/28

1. Eating Thai food leftovers for lunch on Friday.
2. A visit to the Dog Park with Lenny and Diego. Diego fell in love with a little Yorkie named Honzo.
3. A dinner of cheese and spinach pizza, followed by a viewing of Science of Sleep.
4. Saturday, shopping with Lenny. Bought 3 shirts and a dress for $35. Nice.
5. Hung out with Lenny all day. Shopped, walked Diego, bathed Diego, ate lunch. It was very nice.

Only 1 Happy Today, cuz it made me that happy!

I was sitting outside, enjoying the chilly evening air. Then a little boy ran into the grass under my balcony. He was playing with his imaginary friend.

It made me smile.

You've just gone and missed it, It's escaped your world

4/13
1. After work, I went out to drinks with a few of my co-workers. Even the girl who I don’t really get along with was there. It was pretty cool. I pretty much got along with the girl I don’t get along with. Maybe now that drama can be over.
2. Went to Sara’s house at 8pm. We got dolled up and went out in North Park. We went to a bar called *somethingsomething* Office. Cheap drinks = excellent!
3. I beat Sara at a game of pool. I never win, so I was pretty excited.
4. We were looking super hot that night. Lots of guys kept coming up to talk to us. It was so funny. One would leave, and then another would come up.
5. Sara and I walked back to her apartment, 2 miles!, in search of a taco shop. We couldn’t find one, so we made her step dad (who is staying with her for a bit) drive us to one. He is such a cool guy. I ate a bean and cheese burrito with guac on the side. Yum!

4/14
1. Went to the vet to get Ocha some medicine. I hope it helps soon! Everyone in the waiting room was amazed at how cute Ocha is.
2. Went to target and bough a neon green and electric blue towel for my bathroom. It’s all part of my moving-in process. I am glad I can finally move in to my apartment and San Diego. I like it here.
3. Sara and I went to Extraordinary Desserts for dinner. So, I had Viking Chocolate Cake for dinner. It was perhaps the most delicious and most chocolate-y cake of all time. Soooo good.
4. Tall Paul is going to make me a mix CD soon. I am very excited to receive it.
5. Spoke to David last night on MSN. I didn’t cry.

Thursday, April 12, 2007

You don't have to speak. I feel.

Life only makes sense when you look at it backwards. Too bad we've got to live it forwards.
-13 Conversations About One Thing

Today's Daily Happy (because it's about time I start up again)
1. I opened my bag of colorful goldfish. They were delicious.
2. I planned to go out to a dessert restaurant with my co-worker, Sara, on Saturday.
3. I watched a very good movie, 12 Conversations About One Thing.
4. I got a lovely email from Emily. I like getting random emails telling me about my friends' days.
5. I had a big plate of nachos for dinner. They had refriend beans, cheese, sour cream, and avocado on top. Yum!

Bonjour, Kitten

Oh today. Today is not feeling how I want to feel.

I had a great evening last night. Around 4:45, I was picked up by my co-worker, Ursula, to go to a “Pleasure Party.” Ursula and I went and picked up our other coworker, Terra, and headed out.

The party was lots of fun. I wished Karl could have been there. He would have been the only guy, but I think he would have had a lot of fun! Especially when we played Hot Potato with a giant double-edged purple dildo! You had to pass it using only your knees, no hands. It was tough! Terra almost won, though, which was hilarious!

It was hilarious. Terra and I got super drunk from all the jello shots (probably 12 a piece!). After we left the party, we went to Terra’s apartment and drank some more. I played some poker and lost (luckily it was play money!).

This morning, Ursula, Terra, and I went and had a healthy breakfast and then Ursula and I left.

I’d felt fine all day until about noon. After that, the hangover kicked in. It’s still going, to be honest. I painted my toenails purple, hoping that would help. It didn’t.

I just watched Girl with the Pearl Earring… it was ok. Now, I’m watching Amelie and drinking Sprite. I hope the Sprite calms my tummy, which is still way out of whack.

If you don't wanna go to Fist City, you'd better detour around my town

  1. I was a grump for a bit again at work. I hate when people ask me about hurricane ratings and 3-point locks. Grrr! But I am lucky to have cool co-workers to at least laugh at the customers with.
  2. Ocha and Anko are coming along. Today Clarissa and I took the two of them on a whirlwind car ride. I told Clarissa to drive as recklessly as she wanted (ie drive over big speed bumps, making sharp turns, etc.) Taking the bunnies for a drive I a good bonding technique. It’s true, too, cuz they were so close together that you couldn’t have fit a credit card between them!
  3. I am gonna watch Little Miss Sunshine again before mailing it back to Blockbuster. It’s a very amusing movie. ^_^
  4. Listening to Loretta Lynn right now. Awesome!

How was your day?

Monday, February 05, 2007

I'm off to the war but you can be sure I will know you're what I'm fighting for...

Dear World,

Hello.

Here is a list of today. My lists have never been, nor will ever be in the correct order. It’s ok.

1. I really want to go to Japan, kidnap David, and bring him back here. I can’t give him big hugs when he has a bad day there. I can’t make him a big, delicious breakfast when he doesn’t sleep well. I can’t give him a kiss goodnight. Needless to say, I am ready for it to be next January so I don’t have to just yearn to do these things. Then, I will be able to do them. It’s going to be amazing.

2. Yesterday, the girlfriend hunt for Ocha wasn’t successful. One day, I would really like to find him a bunny-wife. He would be much less lonely. And the two of them wont need so much space, as they will be together all the time. And I will worry less about him when I’m not at home. Now, when I can’t be home, I worry that he is lonely and sad. If he had a little girlfriend, he would be less lonely and sad.

3. I want to start learning to cook. I hate living alone and cooking, though. Maybe when David moves out here, I will start cooking sometimes. I may even try some recipes with peppers. We’ll see, though. No promises.

4. I need to clean my apartment by Friday. Bonnie and Jenn arrive Friday night. Woo!!! I have to plan what we will to together. Zoo. Beach. Hmmmm… what else?

5. Drinking tea. Ahhhhhh.

Monday, January 29, 2007

It can't rain all the time

1. It's raining.
2. I talked to David again today. It's so wonderful to talk to him so often. Even if we are both in quiet moods, I still enjoy it. Just feeling his presence is amazing. Knowing that he's there. I miss him, but no matter how far away, he still makes me feel good inside. I love that lil plonk!
3. I just watched a movie, Mysterious Skin. It's a pretty hard-hitting movie, but interesting. The things that happen in it are despicable. But overall, a decent movie. If you see it though, don't waste a happy mood on it. It's too serious for that.
4. I painted my nails red again tonight. Theyve been pink for about a week. I used to love the idea of how feminine baby pink nails are. And I still think they are ok sometimes...but for some reason, I prefer bolder colors.

The end.

A life in brief

Oh me, oh my. It has been a long time since I wrote in here. To be honest, I just haven’t felt like writing. Or, I have too much to write, it’s daunting.

But here I am now, writing.

What have I been up to since the new year started? Well, my NYE went off with a bang. I talked to David on the phone for hours, during which time, Melo and Emily called me to do the countdown in Georgia together. And David was wonderful enough to stay on Skype with me until past midnight. It was a really sweet way to start the year. I’m glad he stayed with me till then, because otherwise I would have felt quite lonely.

After that, I mostly just worked and prepared for my trip.

England was amazing! It was such a needed vacation. Seriously. You should read David’s blog about it. He says everything so beautifully. I tear up every time I read it. He is so amazing.

David and I had a great time together. I was very nervous to go, as I hadn’t seen him since August and things have been tough for us since then. But seeing him in the airport. There isn’t a way I can verbally say how I felt. It was as if the moment I saw him, all of my worries were thrown out the window. At first, it was strange to see him again, as it had been so long. But very soon, I was as comfortable as ever. To be really, physically close to him again was so amazing.

We had a lot of fun. We took a day trip to Lyme Regis, on the coast. The wind there was madness! I was really afraid it was going to blow us over! It almost did at points. David took a lot of wind-blown pictures, and I looked at rocks on the beach.

We also took a day trip to London. I’d never been there before, so I was really excited to go. After the million-hour journey there, we walked down the Thames to the Tate Modern. It was awesome! Inside, one of the exhibits was a setoff giant slides! Giant slides you could slide down! For free! So slide, we did. Very cool! Between slides, we looked at a lot of modern art. I’m not a huge fan of modern art as a whole, but some of it was ok. David and I also decorated postcards there. Very cute. :o)

On the weekend, we picked up one of David’s best friends, Imogen, and we took a nice long roadtrip to Portsmouth, David’s old university town. There we met up Caroline, David’s other best friend. The 4 of us had a wonderful time! It was so good to finally really get to know those two. And it was so touching to see the three pirate friends together. I could defo see why David loves them so much.

After our trip to Portsmouth, David and I spent the last few days together, just the two of us. I miss him so much right now. It makes me tear up to think I have to wait until August to see him again. But he is worth the wait. I could never imagine anyone else making me as happy and as in love as he does. I am hoping to win the lottery, that way he can get to America faster than August.

A girl can dream, can’t she? ^_^

My word of the year: Adventure

This year, I am going to live a more adventurous life. I don't expect to go cliff diving every weekend or anything. But I need to take more risks.

I also need to learn some new things. I need to become a more well-rounded individual.

10 things I am going to do this year:
1. Visit 10 cities that I have never been to before
2. Go bungee jumping
3. Not be so afraid to say "no" to people
4. Not be afraid to try new foods
5. Join a gym or some kind of fitness something
6. Be happy with my weight
7. Learn to cook at least 1 dinner meal perfectly
8. Say "Thank you" when a compliment is received
9. Take a long walk at least once a week
10. Wear heels at least once a month.

I don't expect myself to excel at everything this year. But I do expect myself to not be so afraid of life. I am tired of being afraid. I don't want to live my life that way anymore.

Anyone else want to venture their list of things to do this year? This is not a New Year's Resolution. I don't believe in those. They don't work. I feel like this is just a list of goals that I want to achieve, so will therefore be easier to stick to.

6. Marry someone I love.
7. Ride the fastest roller coaster in the world (Kingda Ka at Six Flags in New Jersey).
8. Ride in a hot air balloon.

Realized that I have missed your face. Seems like I've been gone, gone for a long time.

  1. I got a $25 Target gift card during my work Christmas Present Party.
  2. I baked peanut butter cookies for tomorrow. We are sending a huge batch of cookies to the people who work at the factory in Tijuana.
  3. I had an amazing dream last night. I hope it is a reoccurring one.
  4. I am going to Rocky Horror tomorrow night. It’s going to be weird not only to see it again, but at an unfamiliar theatre with unfamiliar people.
  5. I got all of my Christmas cards sent out yesterday. Hopefully they will make it to the lucky recipients before Christmas!

La lune est près de moi.

I had this dream last night, and it's been haunting me all day.

Have you ever had a dream that you wished so hard was real?
A dream where you know if it were real, you could truly feel happy?

Waking up today was the worst it's been in a long time. I wished so hard to go back to sleep to live in this dream forever. If it were possible, I would have never come out of it.

A Brief Post

Last night was fun. Met up with strangers from the internet again. It was fun. I learned a new awesome (and cheap!) Mexican restaurant n town, Pokez. Yum! We ate there and the moved on to a bar and then karaoke. It was a fun night. If you are curious, photos are up on flickr.

What I *really* wanted to post about was my new purchase. I decided I couldnt stand it anymore, so I went out and bought.... a DVD player! Yessss! And I discovered that Target was having a sale on DVDs, so I bought The Notebook ($4), 3 Harry Potter movies ($4/each), Grey's Anatomy ($9/season 1), and 24 Season 1 ($16). So far today, I have watched *ALL* of season 1 of Grey's Anatomy. I loved it! O, I wasnt sure howmuch I'd like it, since I tend to not get into TV so much... but for $9, I could give it a shot. Glad I did. And I got 24 because David talks about it sooo much that I felt that for such a cheap price, I should give it a shot.

The end!

Happy Thanksgiving!

So, today is Thanksgiving. I know this because I specially made pumpkin bread, and it's only 9am and I've already ruined it! Doh!

I can't be trusted to cook for other people. Whatever dish I bring to this potluck is going to be a disaster!

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving, y'all. I am sending lots of love your ways!

You've got to change the world

It’s been a while, ne. I have been super busy, but not really. The big news is that I got a job. I m still technically working at the temp agency, still. But, I have been put out o a temp-to-perm project. So, I am working at a company called Jeld-wen. They manufacture doors. Yep. Sound boring? Well, so far, it’s not! I never knew so much planning and preparation had to go into making a door. It’s really interesting. I used to think they were just big pieces of wood we walk in and out of, but there’s a lot more to it. It’s interesting. Also it’s nice to have some kind of schedule to my life again. I work 7-4 each weekday. It sucks getting up so early, but it’s nice to get out by 4.

Other than work, things are good. I spend a lot of time alone, but I’ve been trying to get out of the house more. I went out this weekend to Dave and Buster’s with some people I met online. And it was fun! We just chatted and played video games. And afterwards, we went out to a karaoke bar. (At this point, I discovered that I hate American karaoke. It’s so lame!)

Then, on Sunday, I went to see The Wiz with Clarissa and Lenny. It was a really good play! Very fun and witty. I enjoyed it a whole lot.

So, for now, I am keeping myself busy with work. When I come home, I let Ocha out to play until it’s time for bed. I don’t go out on weeknights much since I have to be up so early, but I try and be social on the weekends. So far, so good. ^_^

And as you all know, this Thursday is Thanksgiving. I’ve been a bit down about that, actually. It really hit me that I am not gonna be home for Thanksgiving OR Christmas this year. It really sucks. It’s nice to have Jackie so close, but it’s just not the same as being with your core unit, you know? I try to keep my chin up about that. Anyway, so Thursday I am going to cook pumpkin bread and sweet potatoes (with marshmallows on top, of course!!) to bring to the Potluck dinner with Jackie and her friends. It’s gonna be fun to be at such a big Thanksgiving dinner, since I’ve only ever had dinner at home that day. But, it’s still just not the same. Ahh well.

That’s all for now. Sorry it’s been so long. I’ll try to be better!

Still hungover at 10pm the next night!

Ever have a night that was so great and you want to tell everyone about it, but remembering the night makes you want to puke… Well, yeah. That was my Friday night. I will make a list of stuff that happened as I remember the evening again. Ha!

  1. I went over to the new apartment of Clarissa and Lenny (Jennifer is her real name). There, I ate some yummy eggplant parmesan and drank 2 glasses of Baileys (the new mint kind).
  2. After dinner, the three of us drove to North Park to discover some bars. We drove around until we found a lil place called The Office. So, we go there, and the alcohol is SO cheap! So, I had two sex on the beaches (which were seriously unbelievably strong) and a Passion Pomegranate shot. The three of us chatted and hung out for a while, but then a band started playing. It was one of those screamy, loud bands, so we vacated the premises.
  3. By this point, the three of us were SOOO drunk that there wasn’t even a chance of any one of us getting into the car to go home. So, we started walking. On the way, we found another bar, which was pretty full. So, we went in. This is the point in my story where it all gets hazy. At this bar, I had a mystery drink from the bartender, another drink (I think), and then a (super strong) shot bought by some girl named Tara. She was cool and bought me the shot to congratulate me on moving to California from Georgia! Haha!
  4. As drunk Abie, I gave many people hugs. I don’t know why I like to hug people so much when I am drunk, but I sure do!
  5. As we left this bar (totally blitzed out of our minds), Clarissa mentioned that she thought the bartender was really cute and that they “had made a connection.” But then she said she was too shy to ask for his phone number, so.. drunk and bold Abie struck again! I ran back into the bar and somehow in my drunken state told the bartender that Clarissa thought he was cute and wanted his phone number, so he gave it to me to give to her! So funny!
  6. And then we began really walking home. We were all three too wasted to be out in public anymore. At some point on the way home, Clarissa had to pee so bad, that she ran off down a side street and peed on the sidewalk!!
  7. Eventually, we made it home. This is where the fun began (not really). I went in to the bathroom and began puking (secretly). It’s rough puking alone. Friends are good to have around cuz they bring you water and make you eat crackers… but alone, I would puke, then stand up and drink water from the sink, and then be sick in the toilet again. After a lil bit, I rejoined Clarissa and Lenny, who (in a desperate attempt for comfort food from home) had made French fries and makeshift feta dressing.
  8. As I went to lie down on the couch to go to sleep (there was NO WAY I was gonna drive home), I realized I had to puke again. So, I called out to Clarissa, begging her to hurry and bring me something to vomit in. So, she brought me a grocery bag (the paper kind)! Anyway, I proceed to vomit into it for like hours. They tried to get me to eat something, but I resisted. Eventually, I let them shove potato chips down my throat (which were thrown up soon thereafter). Before they went to bed, Clarissa put a plastic bad on the ground under my vomit bag just in case of leaks or anything. So, we all went to sleep. I did wake up once in the middle of the night to throw up again, but after that I slept until morning.
  9. This morning, it so happens that the plastic bag had a hole in it, so the puke leaked all over! Gross! Luckily it was all water-puke, since I had puked up any chunks earlier. Also, Clarissa told me that I was the most “elegant puker” she’d ever met. Hahahaha. What a compliment!
  10. This morning, Clarissa made me a yummy brekkie of tomato soup and a grilled cheese. It was actually the perfect hangover breakfast.

The end.

We live on a mountain, right at the top

  1. I slept in my new nightgown. It is a super soft, blue microfiber. Love it!
  2. As soon as I woke up this morning, I put on Persuasion and stayed in bed an extra two hours to watch it.
  3. After playing online for a bit, I got dressed and ran some errands.
    1. Dropped off Victoria’s Secret application
    2. Picked up first paycheck (Wooooo!)
    3. Set up a bank account
  4. By then, it was lunch time. So, I headed off to Coronado beach. I sat and ate my lunch (Chicken Caesar wraps!). After that, I walked all along the beach for an hour or so.
  5. A boy named Stefan walked with me for a few minutes. He was telling me that he couldn’t find any sand dollars, but he really wanted one. After he walked off, I found a sand dollar. You should have seen the look on his face when I gave it to him!
  6. Tonight, I am going out with Clarissa and Jennifer. I dunno what we’ll do yet, but it’s sure to be fun! And tomorrow, we are going to the Swap Meet (it’s like a giant flea market!) David – visualize the one we went to in Kyoto, but bigger!! ^_^

Hey remember that time we decided to kiss anywhere except the mouth

Here are a few happies, out of order, from the past few days.

  1. I saw Regina Spektor on Sunday night! It was a great show, and she played lots of good songs. I was a tad sad cuz she played mostly new songs…but they were still wonderful. But, I did really want to hear some of the old stuff, too. Then again, it was extra cool cuz she played with her band this time, and I got to hear Your Honor live! It was fab!!
  2. I finished up my last day of data entry yesterday! Yessssssssssss!
  3. I have an interview at 2:30 today for a receptionist for a company that manufactures fancy doors and windows. Maybe cool? Oh, and it pays $14/hour! Good luck to meeeee!
  4. I’ve been drinking lots of English tea lately. It’s very yummy.
  5. So far this week, I’ve had chats with Stacey and Melo on the phone! It is so wonderful to be able to talk to friends.

Oh, on another note, everyone leave David messages to help him feel better. He is feeling really sick this week and needs some loveins! <3

I am tired of feeling down. I need an up.

Tuesday, October 31, 2006

I am looking for a star I can tell my troubles to

So, I am in an awful mood today.
At 11:30am, the temp agency lady, Rebecca, called me cuz she was in a fix. She needed to find some people to do data entry at this real estate appraisal place until friday. As I have no real job yet, I said sure and off I went. I got there at 12:30 and until 6pm, I stared at a computer screen. The job itself was shit, but what was really shit was the environment of the office. The people there were not very nice. I guess they forgot I was there, but (because 6 more temps are coming tomorrow to help out with their data entry crisis) the people in the office started making fun of temp. They were saying how people were temps only because no one would want to hire them for more than a week at a time. Really nasty stuff. I kept my mouth shut, even though I should have said something. If they go at it agian tomorrow, I am really gonna give them a piece of my mind. Just because I am doing data entry does NOT mean I am not an intelligent woman!

I need a hug.

To the world you might be one person, but to one person you might be the world.

  1. Well, instead of going out the Saturday before Halloween like a normal person, I moved into my apartment today. It involved a lot of up and down stairs. My apartment complex is a little bit ghetto, but it’s fine. I am nearby to make places; I’m basically 15-20 minutes from everything and anything. So, that’s nice.
  2. Ocha really seems to like the new place. I let him out this evening and after a tentative crawl around, he was jumping and dancing. It was nice. The only bad bit was I put on a movie on my laptop, and Ocha got really angry and stomped a lot. He’s never been in a room that a movie was playing before, so I think it freaked him out (all the new sounds, but without smells to go along with it).
  3. I went and did my first grocery shopping, too. I got a lot of Abie-foods, for example, mac n cheese, cereal, peanut butter & jelly, and marshmallows! Ha! I am quite a silly person. But, I got some strawberries this morning (Jackie and I went to a farmers market and I got a huge bunch of organic strawberries for $2.50! Yum yum yum!)
  4. While waiting in line to pay for groceries, the guy in front of me told me that he felt happy to see me cuz I was smiling. Hehe.
  5. I watched Pride & Prejudice to break in my apartment. Soon I am gonna buy a DVD player so I am actually use the TV that Jackie and Dale gave me. Seriously, this TV is HUGE! It took the 3 of us to carry it up the stairs! Insanely heavy!
  6. My first night in the apartment, I slept on the floor in the living room next to Ocha’s cage. I needed to not feel lonely my first night here. I think tonight I will sleep in the bedroom. ^_^
  7. I had the most FRUSTRATING adventure, trying to find internet access today. I was ready to kill kill kill! It took me hourS to find a place that has Wifi that A. works and 2. isn’t a gajillion dollars. (Yes, that S was capitalized on purpose).
  8. After all the money I’ve spent to get my apartment up to a livable position (tons of cleaning products, groceries, etc), I REALLY need that job. I hope I find something soon…I am feeling job-stressed.

Wednesday, October 11, 2006

You're not just gonna watch it; you're gonna live it.

  1. The start to yesterday was ok. I went over to Saturn to get my car fixed. It wasn’t an adventure at all. It was pretty boring. I tried to re-install my Sims again, but it was feeling difficult. I think I need to make more space on my computer to fit it again… 4 hours and $708 later, my car is all ready to go. Sweet Jesus that’s a lot of money. . .
  2. I went to Armon’s new apartment to hang out last night. After an ATM drama, we went to his friend’s house and watched an episode of The Simpsons. Then, we went back to his apartment and ate pizza while he played video games. It was cool. I enjoy hanging out with Armon because I don’t feel bad at all just sitting and reading a magazine while he plays video games. It’s such a relaxed friendship. No entertaining. Just chillin.
  3. This morning, I woke up way too early, again. Since I woke up, I’ve been keeping myself busy. Today was my last day to have any slight amount of relaxation. Well, I tomorrow and Friday I will be happy, but will be out and about mostly. But today I played with Ocha for a long time. Then, I wrote some emails. Then I did some packing. Etc etc.
  4. I am off to the grocery store in a few minutes with my parents to buy supplies for the trip. Nathan and I are both on a budget, so we are gonna be eating cereal and PB&Js most of the trip.

Monday, October 09, 2006

It's all about timing.

  1. I woke up early to take Ocha to the vet. His ear is looking a lot better. I got all of his paperwork from the vet so I can easily get set up at a new vet in California.
  2. Karl and I went and saw The Science of Sleep. It was pretty good. Very weird, but I have a feeling that the more I watch it, the more I will like it. I do like how off-the-wall it was. Karl and I laughed a lot.
  3. We were the only 2 people in the theater watching it.
  4. I ate 3 cream puffs today. Bad for the diet; good for the soul.

Friday, October 06, 2006

People still need Zorro.

  1. I felt a little bit better today, which was great. I still feel a bit sick to my stomach, but I am feeling better.
  2. I finished putting together another package for David today. I went way over budget for it, but I think it will be all gravy. ^_^
  3. Mom and I went to Dollar Tree and Wal-Mart when she got home from work. Mom even let me drive!! She usually doesn’t cuz she HATES my driving. She bought some little ceramic containers for Christmas. She gets so excited about Xmas decorations.
  4. As we pulled in at the house, Karl pulled up right behind. It was a nice surprise, discovering Karl coming home for a few days.
  5. Tomorrow morning, I have to go to the post office, and then clean out my car. In the afternoon, Emily and Melissa are driving down from Athens to visit, which will be lots of fun! I may take them to the Maize Maze if the weather is nice. This time I will wear better shoes for it…

Thursday, October 05, 2006

A sigh

Today also doesn’t get a list. I am feeling sick. I’ve been sick the past few days. I have this huge knot in my stomach. I spent about half an hour last night trying to force myself to puke whatever it was up…but it didn’t work. I was supposed to go hang out with Armon tonight, but I just wasn’t feeling up to driving down to Atlanta. I hope I can feel better by this weekend. I’m sure I’ll be fine.

Tuesday, September 26, 2006

Shake my hand. People do it when they meet each other.

I don’t feel like doing a list today.

This morning, I tried very hard to give Ocha his medicine for his ear problem. Cuz the vet gave me the meds in pill-form, it was impossible to get him to eat it. He bit me twice cuz he didn’t like me trying to get him to eat it. So, I went to Wal-mart and bought an eyedropper and some apple juice. I smashed up the pill and mixed it with AJ and used the eyedropper to make him drink it. It worked much better.

That was my major accomplishment of the day.

In other good news, I went to the mall with Mom yesterday to try and use her coupon at Lane Bryant to find her something cute. We went in to peek around Torrid afterwards. I tried on a pair of size 14 pants. They were too big. The 12 fit. For those of you know don’t know, that is a MAJOR accomplishment.

Bad news of yesterday: I got an email from Torrid. They found someone else for my dream position. Back to the drawing board. I am trying not to get too down about it. Of course, I left myself feel bad last night. And I still do a little bit, but I know that I’ve just got to buckle down in the face of adversity.

Sunday, September 24, 2006

I can always change my name if that's what you mean

  1. This morning, I got up early to shower and get ready before meeting Stephi-chan at 10am. It was harder to wake up than usual.
  2. When I went to get dressed, something weird inspired me to try on some jeans in my “clothes that don’t fit” pile. I had never been able to even zip them up, let alone move in them. But this morning it happened. I zipped them up and felt hot and fantastic all day cuz of that. I guess the weight I am losing is starting to show.
  3. After wandering around the dealer’s room, we were on our way to find Mark, and I randomly saw two people from high school. I saw Stevie and Joseph! It was random and a half. It took Stevie a while to recognize me. I had to say, “Hey…it’s Abie…” I guess I look a lot different. Good.
  4. After AWA, Stephi-chan and I went to Subway for lunch. Then we went to Walmart to buy some more things for her new apartment. Her place is really nice. I hope I can find something like that in LA. Not holding my breath for that, but hoping nonetheless.
  5. When I was playing with Ocha tonight, I discovered something bad. He has a red blotch with black dots in one of his ears. I did research and found out that it is probably ear mites. So we have to go to the vet tomorrow. I hope it’s easily curable and cheap to cure…

She will kiss you till your lips bleed, but she will not take her dress off

I had an amazing weekend, which I would like to talk about right now.

Friday

  1. In the early evening, I went over to Jenni’s house. We first looked at random things online, and she showed me beautypluspower.com, which I loved. Then, Nenni made some delicious homemade macaroni n’ cheese for us for dinner.
  2. While eating it, we watched the new version of Pride and Prejudice. I didn’t really enjoy the movie, but it reminded me of how much I love historic costume. There were so many things in it that weren’t done right, but the fact that I cared reminded me how much I enjoy it. So it got an A for making me remember my love for costume history, but a D- for the actual movie.
  3. Jenni and I also discussed how Mr. Darcy of this movie had gas-face the whole time. hehehe
  4. After the movie, we watched a few episodes of Dead Like Me. That show is great. Jenni and I were lamenting that it got cancelled.

Saturday

  1. I woke up at a decent hour. I are Special K for breakfast, which was special indeed. Nenni gave me some delicious peanut butter cookies for the road, which I shared with Melo, Emily, and Jenna later in the day.
  2. I arrived at Emily’s house around 1pm. We chatted for a few, then headed to Atlanta to steal away Alli and Catie. The 6 of us, finally reunited, went out to Moe’s Sports Grill for lunch. After a few mishaps, we all had the correct food. This moment is when the picture-taking mania began.
  3. After lunch, we went o Ikea to meet up with Chris Slack, Amanda, Crystal, and other Jump peeps. While waiting for them in the parking lot, we played with a shopping cart, in a slightly dangerous manner.
  4. We met up at Chris Slacks house so everyone could ready themselves for the upcoming evening. I fixed Brooke’s hair in a way that Yoko taught me. It was cute.
  5. The Jay show was great. It was amazing to see so many friends at one time. If you go to my flickr, you can see that there were MILLIONS of pictures taken that night. One with everyone’s camera.
  6. We all sang Happy Birthday to Chris Slack, which was nice. When I say “we all,” I mean the whole club.
  7. The highlight of the show was Crystal singing “Do You Love an Apple?” with Jay. I am so glad I have a video of it. It was amazing!!!

Sunday

  1. Slept over at Emily’s house Sat night. Her guest bed was SOOO comfy. I did have to yell at Jenna in the middle of the night, but out of love. ;o)
  2. Emily’s mom made us a DELICIOUS breakfast of French toast, which we ate on their back porch. It was a perfect time.
  3. We drove over to Piedmont Park to park and get ready for the day ahead. It took a while to find our way around, but we eventually learned. Bless Melo for being such a patient driver.
  4. After playing in the park, just the 4 of us, we met up with the crew from the night before. As hungry bears, we all went to find food. Everyone but Melo, Em, and I ate at a Mediterranean place. The 3 of us got fruit juice and a cookie from a healthy shop next door.
  5. After lunch, everyone else had to move on to begin journies home. So, we all said goodbye. Then, it was the 4 of us again.
  6. We went to play in a playground. It was fun. Emily and I played on the swings and rode the slide some. Good times!
  7. After the playground, we headed down to Park Tavern to get a good spot for the Regina Spektor show. We ate dinner. Emily’s dinner was attacked by gnats! Bless her lil heart! After dinner came dessert. Yum! Key lime pie!
  8. Eventually after two openers, it was Regina’s turn. Emily and I went to stand by the side of the stage for it. I was literally less than 2 feet to Regina at some points. It was insane. She is such a little person. So cute. And her voice is amazing. And by the way, did I mention that the show was FREE? Holy crap that made it even more amazing!

Don't you dare come to bed with that ambiguous look in your eye

  1. Nerd games yesterday were fun. I really enjoyed the group a lot. And Mark is always a fun DM. It gets a check!
  2. Last night, I played Truth or Dare online. It was interesting, to say the least. One girl took a photo of herself with her underwear on her head! Ha!
  3. I posted a photo online for a few hours of me in my underwear. I can’t believe I had the guts to do that!
  4. I went to sleep at 5am. Geebus, that’s late!
  5. Today I have some errands to do. I will also do more job hunting... I got my first rejection letter today. *sigh*

My Life

I have decided for today to not use my normal numbered style.

I had a very nice weekend. Friday night, Emily and Melissa came down to Woodstock. We ate at Sweet Tomatoes for dinner, then came back to the house to hang out. Saturday morning, we headed over to Three13 Hair Salon to get a new, fabulous look. And in my opinion, it was a major success.

When we got back to the house, we had beef brocolli pie. It's a family favorite. Steve and his girlfriend (and Steve's dog, Deuce) came by for it as well. It was yummy. Emily discovered to not discuss certain subjects with Deuce.

Sunday, I hung out at home all day. In the evening, I went over to Jenni's house. We watched Twin Falls Idaho and ate peanut butter cookies. Jenni and I both got crushes on the main actors in it. They were definitely way cute on Jenni's big screen TV. After the movie, we watched a few episodes of Dead Like Me and then went to bed. Monday, we hung around Jenni's place till 2:30ish, then went out to look at some beauty supply stores to find cute earrings. No luck with the earrings, but Jenni did find a cute shirt for Roberto at Target.

Yesterday I went out to lunch and ate Vietnamese food. It was yummy. For the rest of the day, I just hung out at home. I sent out a few more resumes. I hope someone gets back to me soon.

I have no plans for this afternoon. Tonight I will head over to the nerd store and nerd it up. Woo!

.the end.

Maybe I'm just strange...

Whenever I watch Animal Planet, I cry. I can't help it. It's like I have all these tears in my body that need to escape. And watching Animal Planet and hearing about horrible events these animal have to go through... I just can't help but cry.

And maybe I'm a fool, or just strange, I cry whenever I hear about Steve Irwin. It's not like I knew him or anything...but it's so sad. And I was talking to Jenni about his death the other day, and she seemed to imply that he deserved it. Cuz he put himself in dangerous situations all the time, he deserved it. He didn't deserve it, it's just how it happened.

I cannot breathe

  1. Last night I went with Jenni to play trivia in Atlanta at Roberto’s Mellow Mushroom. It was just the two of us…but we lost, pretty badly. Of course, this Mellow Mushroom did happen to be right next to Emory, so there were lots of super smart people to compete against.
  2. Today I cleaned a bit. Ocha’s room looks much better.
  3. Emily and Melo are coming down tomorrow. I am really looking forward to it!
  4. I am feeling a little depressed tonight. I am definitely going to bed early. I hate feeling like this, and I hate that I feel like this so often lately.

everything here is free; everything but you and me

  1. I finished reading Anansi Boys by Neil Gaiman. I enjoyed it, but not as much as Stardust. I also started American Gods today. It’s starting off very slow, so its hard to get into so far…but I know it will get good, so I just have to stick with it.
  2. Last night, I hung out with Bonnie and Jenn. We made up a drinking game for Zoolander and got drunk and ate nachos. It was delicious and fun!
  3. Today I played nerd games at the nerd store for a while. I really like nerd games. I don’t care that it’s nerdy or that some people will make fun of me for liking it. I just like it, that’s all. Hey, at least I am not a LARPer. They’re much weirder than me.

Yoko ni aitai!!!!!

  1. I got a phone call from Richard (my homie from Japan/New Zealand) this morning! How exciting was that! Rich is such an amazing guy. I’m really glad that he became my good friend while I was in Tanbara. And he and Yoko are gonna call me tonight! I am sooooo excited to speak to Yoko!
  2. At Target tonight, I bought a Sims 2 expansion (Nightlife). Hurray! …but, as it turns out afterall, my computer can’t handle it. So after the installation somehow deleting ALL of my sim files… it still doesn’t work. *sigh* So now I cant play any of my Sims games cuz it made them all explode, so I will have to reinstall all of them…
  3. I got to talk to Yoko!!!!!!!!!! It was awesome! Richard called me again tonight at around 11, and I chatted to him for a few more minutes. Then, Yoko arrived and I talked to her for almost an hour! It was amazing. God, I miss her so much. Wow, I will go to sleep with a big smile on my face tonight!

You want nothing to do with me

  1. The night before last, I was awoken late in the night by a storm. I was too tired to open my eyes and watch it, but I did listen to it until it passed. It wasn’t just any storm. It was an extremely loud and angry storm. I couldn’t believe how loud the thunder was! And the lightening! It was amazing. I wasn’t upset at being woken up by it at all.
  2. Yesterday I played with Bonnie for a long time. I went and picked her up at 11am. I was a little early, so I took the log way to get to her house. Then, we took off to North Point Mall. It was an adventure in mall-ing. I bought a new belt (much needed) and two new bras (also, much needed). I didn’t get fun color bras though. I had to throw out my old black and beige one when I left Japan (they’d had a long life already and it was time for them to go), so I got a new black and an ivory. Ooooooh!
  3. At the Apple store, we played on Bonnie’s dream computer for a long time. It was fun. I hadn’t realized just how cool Macs are. I want one now. She showed me a cool movie making program that I knew David would go bonkers for.
  4. At the Apple store, I had some guy come up to me and say “Hey! Threadless!” about my shirt. Then, I got another compliment from a stranger about it a few minutes later.
  5. After the mall, Bonnie and I went back to her place and each bought two shirts from Threadless. Yay!
  6. Last night, around 7, Jenni called me and invited me dancing. I went. It was lots of fun. I danced quite a bit, but not as much as Jenni. For some reason, I guess it didn’t help that the venue was underground, I kept getting so claustrophobic. I’ve never been like that before, but it was bad last night. I felt dehydrated most of the time. And the stroke lights made me really freak out. It was like a bad trip, at moments.
  7. Some guy named Carlos kept coming up to me. At first, I just thought it was funny. Then, once when I was dancing, he came up behind me and started dancing with me. He had his hands on my sides. I got so mad. I told him off right there. I was like, “I am not interested. And how rude to just come and put your hands on my body. You have no right to do that!” So, he left me alone the rest of the night. Geebus!
  8. I was standing outside in the rain for a bit. Roberto came and found me after taking care of his sick friend. We discussed how fun it is to play in the rain. So, I offered that we should jump in puddles. So we did. It was raining SO hard (cuz of the tropical storm coming through). We got absolutely SOAKED. It was amazing. That was my favorite part of the night. I don’t get to stomp in puddles often enough. It really is my favorite thing to do.
  9. This morning, Ocha peed on my bed. Damn it.

Marionette, who are you now?

  1. I watched a program on Animal Planet today called “Growing Up Zebra.” It was so cute! It did make me cry a little bit though. The poor zebra was very sick for a while. But in the end, it got well and was releases to the wild. A happy ending, after all.
  2. I ate 2 mini-Snickers bars and a Reece’s Peanut Butter Cup today. They were delicious.
  3. I did my laundry AND put everything away today. Yesterday, Mom and I bought fancy pant and skirt hangers. So now my closet is nice and organized. Ahhhhh.
  4. I haven’t left the house at all today, except to get the mail. So, I’ve been playing with Ocha all day. That’s pretty much all. He and I played a fun game earlier. I covered him with blankets and made him find his way out. He kept coming back to keep playing, so I think he liked it.
  5. I think my hair looks extra cute today. Mom told me that she hates my bangs. I am not a huge fan of them either, but she always seems to insult my hair on days when I think it’s looking cute. I think she does it on purpose. Silly Mom.

we looked like giants

  1. Spent a long time looking for jobs online (with very little luck). While doing that, Ocha came and actually snuggled next to me (!!!), which was the first time he’s ever just came and laid down next to me. It was cute.
  2. When Mom got home, we went to Target. On the way there, the sky opened up and there was about 5 minutes of such intense rainfall. It was like the time we drove back from Charleston and people had to put their hazard lights on so people could see your car. Insane-o.
  3. I had two bowls of cereal today (Cinnamon Life and Cinnamon Swirl). They were both delicious.
  4. After dinner, my dad and I watched Antiques Roadshow together. Unfortunately there were no massively expensive pieces in that show. Only up to $25,000 or so.
  5. The Geiko commercial’s lizard has a very endearing British accent.

on the evergreen

  1. This morning, I ran all of my errands (returning something to a pet store, sending in my tax stuff, and asking the manager at torrid a few questions) all before 11am.
  2. I watched Twin Falls Idaho, which David had highly recommended. Well, as always, he did a good job. I’m glad that I own it. It was such a beautiful film. And I did cry, but it was so amazing…
  3. Mom and I went to WW today. I lost 4.2 pounds this week! And I wasn’t even behaving. All week pretty much I ate over my allowed points. Hurrah!
  4. Remember that job that I mentioned yesterday… well, I fucked things up with them. I emailed them my rough draft cover letter rather than my final. Hopefully they will still read through it at least. I was so excited about it, too. So excited. I just emailing them back and explained. We’ll see if I ever hear from them. I feel so stupid about it. God, I am an idiot.

It's got to be now or never

  1. Today I’ve spent a lot of time with Ocha. He is finally coming around to me. He has never been an attention-seeking rabbit before. Now, he is starting to come up to me and sit with me and let me pet him for long periods of time. Maybe one day he will want to snuggle in my lap. I won’t rush him, though. It has to be on his terms, otherwise he gets grumpy.
  2. I went to a store by the Goodwill in Woodstock called Pet Supermarket. I bought Ocha a new carrot holder for his cage. I was going to bring my one from Japan, but I’m glad I didn’t. Carrots are MUCH thinner here, so a thinner carrot holder is necessary.
  3. After Pet Supermarket, I went into Goodwill and bought a nice dress skirt for (my future) work and a funky sheer long top.
  4. I have many things I want to sell on Ebay, so I’ve been photographing some of the items today.
  5. I called and set up an appointment for Ocha tomorrow. He is going to have a check-up at his first English-speaking vet. I just need a general health check-up. I also have some questions that need to be asked in English, so I can be sure to understand the answer. Hehe
  6. I wrote a cover letter for a job that looks amazing. Granted, it’s in LA, but it still looks amazing. Fingers crossed.
  7. I went to Publix with Mom and Dad this evening. Mom and I bought tons of delicious-looking healthy food. I hope it all tastes good. Tomorrow is our 1 week weigh-in. Wish us both luck!

I've gotta get out of here to find my way again

  1. Since I got home around 3am, I slept until 11 today! It was AWESOME! That’s the latest I’ve had a sleep in for a while. It was excellent.
  2. I hung around with Ocha and chatted to my friend Katie from freshman year online. Ocha kept trying to walk on my laptop, which wasn’t a good job. He’s just curious, though.
  3. I baked some blueberry muffins with fresh blueberries. Yum! Then, with the half a pack of blueberries I had left, I made a Blueberry-Banana-Walnut Coffeecake. Mmmmmmmmmmmm!
  4. After that, Bonnie came over. We went to the mall to look for some new shoes for her, but instead all she found was a new (super cute!) pair of sunglasses.
  5. As we were leaving the mall to go grab food (cuz I was SO hungry at that point), it started to pour down rain. We made a run for it to her car, which was fun… except we were SOAKED when he got there. It was raining much harder than we’d originally thought.
  6. After dinner at Roadhouse Grill, we went to Cost Plus World Mart. I remember when David was here and we went on a mad hunt for custard. Anyway, this place carries imported goods (including custard). It reminded me of the rhubard crumble time. It was so delicious!
  7. At Cost Plus World Mart, I bought some PG Tips (English tea) and Wheatabix. David would be jealous. I think the Wheatabix will be especially good for my diet, cuz it’s so high in fiber, which means it is less points… And it’s a good breakfast.
  8. I was going to go to a knitting group meetup tonight, but I decided that I am too tired to leave the house again. I am now in my PJs, laying on my bed, with Ocha jumping on and off the bed. He is currently enjoying looking out the window. :o)

yesterday

I realize that I haven’t written anything in AGES. Sorry, everyone. To tell the truth, there has been too much to write about for me to write anything at all.

I am not even going to try and summarize how life has been lately. If you want to know, you probably already do. If not, ask. :o)

Today’s Daily Happy

  1. I ate a delicious breakfast of Captain Crunch cereal with soy milk and a small cup of strawberry yogurt.
  2. After breakfast, I played with Ocha for a while. He is doing really well here. He is living in the upstairs bathroom in his cage. I built the cage in there, not realizing how big it was. So, it can’t come out of there cuz it’s too wide to get out of the door. Anyway, Ocha is doing well. I have set up a baby gate outside the bathroom door in such a way that half of the upstairs hallway is open to him. I close all the doors down here except mine, so he can run form my room to the bathroom as he pleases. He loves it! He has never had a big AND carpeted area to run on. So, he zooms back and forth, going as fast as possible. He also likes to look in a mirror that is on my floor, propped against a wall. I think he is confused as to why there is another bunny in “the other room.” :o) (In fact, as I write this, I am laying on my bed. Ocha just came up to see what I was doing and watched me type for a moment. He is cute.)
  3. This afternoon, I went to a thrift store and bought 3 new skirts. I have decided that for the most part, I hate the current fashion in stores….so I am going to try to thrift as much as I can.
  4. I ate Spaghetti-o’s for lunch!!
  5. The afternoon was pretty boring. I did play with Ocha for a long time. He likes to poo in little piles RIGHT outside his litter box, apparently. Some training will have to be done to stop him.
  6. After dinner, I met up with Jenni. We met at her old Starbuck’s, and then moved on to a gay bar in Atlanta called Blake’s to watch a drag show. It was pretty excellent. I really did miss being around gay people.
  7. After the drag show, we went to a bar called Estoria that Jenni and her friends frequent. It was really nice and had such a variety of people in there. It was so weird! I had one girl give me a little flirty wave. I guess I looked extra lesbionical last night? Ah well. I felt cute-ish, that’s what matters.
